I typically photograph the Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade in Queens, NY, which the organizers describe as the largest such parade in the nation. This year I was in Columbus, OH so went looking for a local event to honor the men and women who died serving our country. I ended up picking an event in Worthington, OH.
Looking Up, 2015
I love the Park Avenue sculptures. I ran across Tom Friedman's "Looking Up, 2015" after dropping off my Brooklyn Half photos at New York Road Runner's offices on West 56th Street. Friedman works from "crushed aluminum foil roasting-pans to create figures, which, through a process of molding and lost wax casting, retain the original material's imprint and markings." The sculpture is at Park and 53rd Street and is on display through July 2016.
